Who men marry

Most men who get married are married to woman who take care of them. Except when they are kids and teens its not always the same deal. The kids that usually have girlfriends, do not look for girls who take care of them because that is not what is so important to them. To kids and teens, it is girls who they get to know who and with girls that will turn into a relationship. But with the adults, I believe that they reason why they look for someone to take care of them because they can't take care of themselves. Most men have very busy lives and they might not have time to clean up their apartments or houses, they might not have time to wash clothes or to make a good dinner. So they look for someone who can take care of them cleaning their homes, feeding them doing what they can't do because they work.

Morgan Spurlock is the greatest man alive in my opinion for pulling off a task like that. He eats McDonald the most unhealthiest fast food place alive for thirty days trying to prove a point. Now if that point doesn't work then I don't know what will. I do not know if I would be able to do something like that. Eating is a way of life to me and I will eat anything there is that is possible. But I will not eat something unhealthy for breakfast lunch and dinner because it will destroy my body structure. Basically the things that I do in my life tells a lot about me and if I stop doing one those things then it takes away apart of my life. I think that not only did Morgan give up eating healthy but he also gave up the way his body looks, and how his body acts to it. I'm excited to see what they results of the movie because I would like to know if McDonald is sued or if are not. I would also like to know the results with him at the end of the thirty days.

Doritos commercial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DZao4kN73M&feature=PlayList&p=593B9A455D27422B&index=2

In this Doritos commercial called "Power of the Crunch" shows that if people buy Doritos get whatever they want. It shows them that anything is possible once you buy the product. The only problem I see with this commercial is that its false advertising. People should know that if they buy a food product that not everything will come to what they want. I think this is where they go wrong. I think that if Doritos wanted to have a good commercial to get their product out there then they would make a commercial that would seem realistic. Although, the commercial was really funny so I have to give them props are being creative, but they need to make it seem more realistic for people to buy the product.

AD Analysis Miler Light

In the Miller Light commercials they are trying to get the message across that all people can drink Miller Light no matter your class or what type of person you are. Anyone can drink it and everyone should enjoy it together. In the commercials he uses comedy to keep the attention of the viewer and this is how their product is known. They are showing the product but the catch phrase “High Life” is what they use to try to make the viewers remember the product. An example of this is there was a super bowl commercial for Miller Light that was 1 second long of the Miller Light guy saying “High Life” Something as simple as that can get the viewer to know your product and is funny at the same time. Miller Light is a good example of how you can use a person as a figure where people will know your product and a catch phrase all to get the message across about your product.

Reebok Advertisment Analysis

In this advertisement Reebok uses a lot of slapstick comedy, because of this the ad appeals to a lot of younger viewers. The advertisement is pretty far off topic with the actual product being marketed, it does not actually mention any certain product being sold by Reebok; however, I think the ad is still effective because there is enough plugging of the actual company name to remind the viewer of who the advertisement is for. It doesn't apply to any of the categories in Maslow's Hierarchy, so it doesn't have any rational appeal to viewers, but for sporting good companies like Reebok I don't think the adds need to be rational.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

I would not go as far as banning One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest from all schools, but I think that the novel should be banned from middle schools and below because of some language and the somewhat promotional use of racism and sexism between R.P. McMurphy and Chief Bromden. The criticisms are fair for today's world but this book was written in a completely different era with completely different social norms.

The main challenges of having a schizophrenic narrator are that you don know when Bromden is having a hallucination and how he viewing a situation, Bromden could be describing Nurse Ratched chaining him down and forcing food down his throat when he could be sitting in a rocking chair with a tray of food in front of him.

The novel and the "Merry Pranksters" may have ushered in many of the popular drugs of the sixties, because of his success despite the use of hallucinogens.

Gender discrimination

There has definitely been a problem in the last 10 years with gender discrimination in sports. This topic was not as controversial until Don Imus called the Rutgers women’s basketball team “nappy-headed hoes” as seen in this article - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/935-gender-discrimination-in-sports-don-imus-and-the-shaming-of-the-fan. Don Imus is known to say what he wants to say and doesn’t really care. When referring to the Rutgers women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hoes” he is arguing that women’s basketball is not really important and no one cares or watches it. By saying this Imus is suggesting that men’s athletics are dominant in college and professional athletics.

This can be inferred by the difference in media coverage and the difference in opportunities in professional athletics between men and women. You can see this now of days in sports. The main American sports are the NFL, MLB, and men’s football and basketball. These types of sports get all the coverage on the main TV stations and in the paper. Women’s sports are seen on the secondary stations such as ESPN 2 and others. The most important women’s games are not as important as just a regular men’s game. This has to do with how people view women’s and men’s sports. Women are less physically developed and people view them as worse at sports. They put the same amount of time into their work and people still view them as worse at sports or not important. Don Imus is not the only person with this viewpoint. This is a huge problem with gender discrimination and unless people change there thoughts on women this will continue for a long time.

Who would you rather Drive with?

In June 2006, Gallup New Service conducted a worldwide survey that consisted of questions asking; Which gender would you rather drive with? and Which gender is a safer driver? The results were the following:

The first graph shows that 43% feel there is no difference between Male and Female drivers, but of the 54% that registered their opinion 33% would rather ride with a male driver and 21% would rather ride with female driver. In my opinion there is no difference in the majority of male and female drivers but there is a large difference in the extreme cases, most of the worst drivers tend to be women.

The second graph shows that 37% think that women are safer drivers and 34% think that males are safer drivers. I agree with the 37% that think women are safer drivers simply because they are more cautious and less aggressive that the majority of male drivers.

The third graph shows that there is a bias in peoples own gender with completely opposite percentages between men and women but the majority still feel that there is no difference. The last graph sows that the "stereotype" is consistent through all ages.

Gender Idenity

As you look at pop culture and how they portray gender identity you can see how it reflects into our society. In pop culture girls are portrayed as being pretty, thin, and stylish. As you look into society all of the celebrities take a lot of pride in being pretty. They try, as many other people to, to be thin. All the girl celebrities have very fancy and stylish clothes. All of this reflects in our society. You can just look in our school. Every takes a lot of time in the morning to be pretty for the day, they have to have nice clothes, and they want to be thin. An example is what we saw in Mean Girls. The girls at that school did not even fit into to the girl population or were not considered a girl if they weren’t pretty, thin, and stylish.

What we see in men on TV is that they are tough and strong. In Tough Guise you can see how the action figures have changed so much over the years as in size of there muscles. In earlier years the action figures were small and now they have to be huge which is sending a message to young boys around the world. It is saying that you are not a man if you are tough and strong. In school if you want to be respected as a man you have to be tough and not back down from anyone and this is reinforced in pop culture.

When kids see all these things on TV it affects them greatly. It tells women you have to be thin and stylish while men have to be tough and strong. When you are born as a kid you are classified as a boy or a girl and I feel once this happens you have to be a certain way and cannot not be another way. If you are born as a boy you play with trucks, monsters, cars, all things that are considered masculine. As a girl you play with dolls and cooking things, which are classified as famine. When you are born you are restricted in what you can play with and as you get older the media influences you and they try to make you the right kind of girl or boy.

Gender

It seems that gender has always been an issue in the world of the United States of America. For some reason everything a guy does a girl has to do it because they want to and no one can tell them that they can't do that because its against the law. As long I have thought of it, but girls are probably treated the most respect out of anyone, even if god visited the Earth. Girls have always had basically whatever they wanted if they tried hard for it and have always made at least some guy look bad. They proved to the world that they can do anything, yet they still expect to be treated with more respect than they already have. Now I'm not saying that I don't respect girls. I respect them so much and I'm all for their rights, but guys don't have the same rights yet we are the same as girls. But if its that's how it's like then its fine with me. What do you think?

College essasy

I think that it is very important to do college essays. Not only does it help you for college, but in a way it helps you understand more about yourself and lets you go deep in you. You discover things that you never knew such as how something affected you, how well you did at a sports event or how something you do in life affects you. In my own experience, my uncle died two years ago and I feel like I've been fine not thinking about him making me upset. Yet once I reread the paper, I started to feel everything I felt when I discovered he was died. It showed me that I'm not over that fact that hes dead and that I am without him. It is helping me try to understand how I feel and I have a feeling that this will take a while until I have finally visit his grave. But the point is that no one should just not do a paper just because the school they are going to doesn't need one but to do one to go deeper with themselves.
