Different bowls

My response to native soil was that I was pretty impressed by how graphical it was. I felt like I was there. What really surprised me was how the bush administration was expecting it to happen and it was the second time a attack occurred on the twin towers and they didn’t do anything about it. I don’t know if amerce thinks that just because they are a super power nothing can happen to them, it like saying someone is perfect but truly no one is perfect. Groves highschool does allow cultural diffrences because everyone in are school is accepting and are school is very accepting. The benfits of a sald bowl are sometimes its good to be around your own kind becuase they understand you best most of the time and the drawbacks for a salad bowl are, you need to be diverse sometimes. The good stuff about a melting pot is its very helathy to be diverse and mixed with other races, and the drawbacks are you might not like the other races you are mixed with. The pressures that students encounter to fit in with in the school culture is always the student do stupid uncalled for stuff to grab attention and seem cool and no its not worth it and the cost is you either look stupid and embarse yourself

Propaganda

I am definitely on the side of Christopher Hitchens, even if there is a small amount of factual truth, as Hitchens said the film is mostly misrepresentation of facts designed to derail Bush. Even though Moore has denied being "politically motivated" for years it is well documented that Moore is a die hard leftist. I would not argue with you if you felt Fahrenheit 9/11 was a powerful film but so is Bambi, that doesn't make the content true.

The evidence that Moore presents in the film is true but it doesn't directly correlate to what Moore was trying to prove. It is true that Bush was reading to children in Florida while the attacks of 9/11 were occurring but, why does it matter that he took a long pause before speaking to the children? Wouldn't it have been worse if he didn't think at all?

9/11's impact on popular culture.

I don't believe Wiltz was right in discounting the dramatic pronouncements of pundits immediately following the event. The main point I don't agree with is Wiltz's thesis, it read "Even a national tragedy of cataclysmic proportions can alter our cultural DNA by only so much". I am of the viewpoint that daily American life will be forever altered in a fundamental way. Think about it, what does the average American think when they see a suspicious looking individual at the airport? Why have the average airports' pre-flight check times tripled since 2001? The every day lives of Americans have become much more censored since the attacks of 9/11.

The images and sounds featured in "On Native Soil" have definitely changed my idea of the attacks. Before viewing "On Native Soil" I had thought the attacks were completely uncontrollable. I am not saying that America could have prevented the attacks, but there were many more mistakes made than I had known about in the past. For example the lack of communication between FAA officials, the fact that the FBI had looked into a "planes as weapons" investigation but decided not to pursue it and that workers in tower 2 were told to stay in place because the were safe.
